The Beatles. My favorite Group

The Beatles were a pop and rock band from Liverpool, England formed in 1960. 

Primarily the band consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). The Beatles are recognized for leading the mid-1960s musical "British Invasion" into the United States. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and homegrown skiffle, the group explored genres ranging from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. Their clothes, styles, and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s. After the band broke up in 1970, all four members embarked upon solo careers.

The Beatles are one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music, selling over one billion records internationally. In the United Kingdom, The Beatles released more than 40 different singles, albums, and EPs that reached number one, earning more number one albums (15) than any other group in UK chart history. This commercial success was repeated in many other countries; their record company, EMI, estimated that by 1985 they had sold over one billion records worldwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, The Beatles have sold more albums in the United States than any other band. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked The Beatles number one on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. According to that same magazine, The Beatles' innovative music and cultural impact helped define the 1960s, and their influence on pop culture is still evident today. In 2008, Billboard magazine released a list of top-selling Hot 100 artists to celebrate the chart's fiftieth anniversary; 

The Beatles reached #1 again.

 

Charlize Theron Biography.

Charlize Theron was born in Benoni, a city in the greater Johannesburg-area, South Africa on August 7th, 1975. Her mother, Gerda, is German, while her late father, Charles, was French (she was named after him).

Charlie began her modeling career in 1991 aged 16 when she won a local modeling contest. She started modeling in Europe and came to New York a year later. She didn't like being a model though, and decided to try her luck with ballet, which had been her biggest passion as a child. Unfortunately, a knee injury prevented her from dancing. Her mother bought her one-way ticket to Los Angeles in 1994 and Charlize started visiting all of the agents on Hollywood Boulevard but without any luck. She went to the bank to cash a check for $500 she'd got from her mother and became furious when she learned that the bank could not cash her check because it was an out-state check. She made a scene and an agent gave her his card, in exchange that she learns the language, which she did by watching soap operas on TV. Her first role was as a young mother in a park in a B-film in 1995, but it was a non-speaking role with three seconds of screen time. Her next role was as Helga in 2 Days in the Valley (1996), which landed her the role of Tina in That Thing You Do! (1996). Since then, she has starred in movies like The Devil's Advocate (1997); Mighty Joe Young (1998); The Cider House Rules (1999); The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) and The Italian Job (2003). An important day in her life was February 29th, 2004 when she was awarded with her first Academy Award for her performance in Monster (2003).

I didn’t notice the bear until the narrator said it was there, dancing. I felt surprised and I thought it was very funny :)

And the last phrase about cyclists was unexpected and it made me laught.

. My Pet

Oh! I saw that Elena was talking about her pets I decided to talk about mine ;) .

My pet is a hamster named Slim. Its body is covered with a darker smooth coat of hair in  the zone of the back and clearer in the belly.  It’s very playful because I've only  had it for a month.  

It feeds on sunflower seeds, corn and peanuts.  I buy treats for it like cakes that he loves.  He is very peculiar, and does not need much care. 

During the day it sleeps and during the night is when it does all its activities, like eating, playing, etc.

It was a wonderful gift and I hope I have it for a long time.

.Halloween is coming!

The main character in the video is death, who is looking for a soul guided by a drawing and associates it with a fat man. In this moment a pretty kitten that is very playful with death. The fat man can’t see death, but he can see the kitten so after looking at the kitten for a while he sees it floating in mid-air and runs away terrified.

Death understand anything and in the blink of an eye, the playful kitten ends up dieing  in a trap. Death, very sad, understands the drawing now and prepares a funeral. 

But kitty gets up as a skeleton and they go on with each other and long journey.

. My ancestor

Elena Ribera is my grandmother, and now I can say that thanks to her I am in Spain. But this event wasn’t easy at all…

My grandmother started her journey from her natal country, Colombia, a country that is economically unstable and doesn’t hve much job offers. Her friend Pilar knew the situation in Spain, specifically, Barcelona, where she lived. One day my grandmother decided to take a chance and go to Barcelona, with only one suitcase a few dollars in her purse and an address from that city.  It was a country she didn’t know, but the language was the same. Once she was in the Airport of Barcelona she contacted Pilar, who let her stay at her house for some time.

 My grandfather and my grandmother still lived in Colombia, but for important dates, such as holidays or birthdays, my grandmother would travel home to be with the family. 

She came with a lot of stories to tell us, about places we didn’t know, except for a few that are internationally known, like the famous Sagrada Familia. It was difficult for her to leave afterwards, although it was to build a better future for us.

Spanish Culture

The Spanish culture stands out by its gastronomy, its climate and its dance. 

The food mediterrania is one of my favourites by the quality of its seafood; also their wines of high quality are famous. 

It enjoys four seasons, being the summer the most tourist time, thanks to his beaches.

Flamenco and the sevillana are dances traditional and unique in the world; in that they emphasize his colourful printed dresses. Certainly like Spain, and I advise I to come to visit it.
