Writing an E-mail.

Hey Peter!
I haven't received an E-mail from you in weeks!
How is everything? Are you studies going well?
Mine are OK. Catalan and english are had, but I study a lot! I think  I want to be a psychologist, but I haven't decided yet.
It seems like a very interesting job, but I'm sure studying for it will be very hard!
Before I thought I wanted to be a translator but I changed my mind.
Have you changed your mind about the future? Let me know!

Sincere by,
Estefania.

UNIT 4 TEST: Part two Writing

Choose one topic. Write about either 1 or 2. Minimum length: 100 words.

2. Write an eassy in which you express your opinion about parent's obsession with academic succes.

My opinion about parent's obsesion with academic success is very negative and I'm very impressed by the text.
I play voleyball and I never thought that people quit because of these situations with obsessive parents. The parents are trying to help their children, but they do it in the wrong way, because either they do all their children's work, or expect too much of them.
The reason people should play sports isn't to make their parents happy, but to satisfy themselves.
Children should think less of thier obsessive parent's expectations and from expectations of their own.

UNIT 3 TEST. Part two: Writing.

Choose one topic. Write about either 1 or 2. Minimum length 100 word.

1. Write a description of the ideal place for a holiday.

My ideal place for a holiday is Hawaii. Everyone wants to go to Hawaii! It's very hot, and there are lots of beaches to go to and have fun, either swimming, lying in the sun to get a tan, or building a sand castle.
Hawaii seems like the ideal place because of its big, blue sea and white soft sand. It doesn't have the inconveniences of a big city, and it seems like a place where it's easy to relax.
From what I've seen in movies and TV commercials, the food seems good there and the people sem nice.
I would be having the perfect holiday!

Comparasions: Are interfering parents ruining* your life?

CLUBmagazine.

The club magazine, compares two differents situations about parents who interfere in to much in their child's life.

In the first case, Jon Greet tells us what it's like to have "helicopter parents" up to the point where they do his homework for him, they come in his room to steal a school project and change things, theu send him text messages with questions like "where are you?" "what are you doing?" "what time are you coming back?"
Although this brings problems, it has some good things: for exemple, he has not had to do homework for three years.

The second case, is the one of a girl who doesn't have "helicopter parents". Lizzy tells us the reason why some parents today are more protective of there children: It's because actually we are much more exposed to danger than 20 years ago.

The solution to that is not in overprotecting their children. Lizzy gives us an exemple of what her life was like when she was 12, when she wanted to have a bunny, an her parents gave it to her, giving her that way a responsability.
All there actions have probably made Lizzy's life more complicated, because if she had had helicopter parents, she would not have had as much responsabilities, but sooner or later we all have to live on our own.

The Beatles. My favorite Group

The Beatles were a pop and rock band from Liverpool, England formed in 1960.

Primarily the band consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). The Beatles are recognized for leading the mid-1960s musical "British Invasion" into the United States. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and homegrown skiffle, the group explored genres ranging from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. Their clothes, styles, and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s. After the band broke up in 1970, all four members embarked upon solo careers.

The Beatles are one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music, selling over one billion records internationally. In the United Kingdom, The Beatles released more than 40 different singlesalbums, and EPs that reached number one, earning more number one albums (15) than any other group in UK chart history. This commercial success was repeated in many other countries; their record company, EMI, estimated that by 1985 they had sold over one billion records worldwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, The Beatles have sold more albums in the United States than any other band. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked The Beatles number one on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. According to that same magazine, The Beatles' innovative music and cultural impact helped define the 1960s, and their influence on pop culture is still evident today. In 2008, Billboard magazine released a list of top-selling Hot 100 artists to celebrate the chart's fiftieth anniversary;

The Beatles reached #1 again.
